CASTROL
COOLANT E-FLUIDS MODEL

Castrol is a key player in the global engineering Fluids market, with ambitions to be at the forefront of the fast-emerging e-fluids industry. Electric vehicles are playing a core role in the mobility revolution and the pathway to decarbonising transport. Electric vehicle batteries work hardest when charging and discharging, as technologies advance these batteries will face unprecedented thermal stress. To combat this Castrol has developed specialist coolant e-fluids, a unique technology for future batteries coolants.

Bringing this future, complex technology to life whilst communicating its’ benefits to a wider audience requires a unique creative approach. Working closely with the e-fluids team at Castrol, Designworks employed an innovative, technology driven approach which in conjunction with a unique design language enabled us to create a demonstration model able to bring to life the latest coolant e-fluids and their clear benefits.

By distilling the design and filtering it through our creative lens we created an interactive model platform through which their complex coolant e-fluid technologies could be demonstrated. The model experience is further enhanced through the power of an augmented reality app, when combined with the proven medium of a physical interactive model we empower the user, giving the user the opportunity to further explore Castrol’s cutting-edge e-fluid cooling technologies.

From the work we’ve done on this model, Castrol had continued enlisting our help to create a second model using the same visual language.
