EMBEDDED DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Based in Windsor, our multi-talented team of product development specialists have been delivering award-winning design solutions across multiple platforms for many years, now as part of our company-wide expansion, we are looking to build an electronics development facility. 

Our proven track record in design excellence embraces insights, product design, hardware and hoftware development, prototyping and production. Working across categories spanning from medical and consumer to toys and social entertainment.

Now as part of our company-wide expansion, we are looking to strengthen our product design and development facility based at our HQ in Windsor.

The Role

You will be part of a team within an energetic product design consultancy. You shall have a high level of responsibility for your work, you will need to have the ability to work to demanding timescales and be able to maintain a high level of enthusiasm and commitment to the projects.

You will typically assist the team in research and development as well as testing on live projects. You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent in software engineering, desirable if applicant has two - four years’ worth of relevant industrial experience.


Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and writing bespoke firmware / software solutions to meet our client needs.

• Researching new products and product developments. Maintain awareness of new technologies.

• Work closely with internal departments to integrate software / firmware with various hardware platforms.

• Provide labour and material cost estimates for work packages.

• Be a team player, working as part of a project team.

• A willingness to help on all software requirements with the company.

Key requirements:

• Bachelor’s engineering degree in computer engineering, computer science or related discipline.

• A sound grasp of software / computer engineering principles.

• Experience of BS EN 62304 Medical device software.

• Experience of object orientated programming, with languages such as C, C++ essential.

• Experience of STM32 microcontrollers.

• Use of tools such as, Arduino, embedded systems e.g. Raspberry Pi, debugging (JTAG) or similar advantageous.

• Should be able to adapt to new languages, methodologies, and platforms to meet the needs of the project.

• Able to write, develop and verify software requirements / design specifications within the full software development life cycle.

• Review and understand existing created code.

• A solid team-player, capable of communicating concepts clearly and concisely in written and verbal form.

• Ability to multitask and work independently on medical and diagnostic devices, consumer products, test equipment and bespoke high value exhibition assets.

• A can-do attitude and sense of humour.

• Valid passport (some overseas travel may be required).
