COTTONMOORE IRONING BOARD
Lacett reconnected with Designworks to update and optimise the design of their premium ironing board that we originally had a hand in developing.
Their aim was to retain the unique innovations of their previous product, including a modular system that allowed the board to accommodate multiple accessories, notably a ‘wing’ feature that extended the nose of the board, enhancing the overall ironing experience.
The team focussed on several aspects including ergonomics, mechanics, production quality, and cost-efficiency. Additionally, they sought to reduce the product's weight while maintaining a premium aesthetic through a well-balanced and functional design. Multiple mechanisms were developed and subjected to rigorous testing to meet consumer needs and preferences, all focused on improving ergonomics and overall usability.
By carefully selecting and integrating distinctive colours, materials and finishes, it not only aimed to enhance the visual appeal of the product but played a strategic role in expanding its market presence. The design sought to create a unique identity, distinguishing the product in a competitive market. Simultaneously, the intentional choices in CMF injecting a contemporary and trendy aesthetic targeted a younger demographic, to appeal to a broader and more dynamic audience.
The outcome is a meticulously crafted product now ready for production, boasting perfected innovations that both streamline the ironing task, and elevate the overall experience.
